Great Works of Art 2012

I had a great time with all the great young art students at Washington and all the parent volunteers.  We all had a fun learning about the artist Man Ray and creating photograms in the style of his Rayographs.  Over 600 photograms were created in this program.  The students embraced the concept of “the everyday as art” in a natural way and created a diverse and interesting body of work.  The photograms in this program were created using fabric Cyanotype sunprints.

The Great Works of Art program is to expose students to established artists and create artworks designed after a great work of art of that artist.  Being an all parent volunteer driven program, it brings parents into the classrooms, and involves them in their child’s

art education.
